A strange night tonight. I was pretty rattled by personal events. Went there early to meet Martin. Jamie soon turned up (with new gibson bass) along with Brended (with hhis bass) and a bottom e string graciously provided for my bass. Me and Martin did some nice playing together at the start of the night. But then after that it seemed really hard to get anything coherent going. At one point it was me, Jami and Brended with 2 basses and one guitar. Tim and Marnie turned up on foot later on with Martin's snare and then certainly the drums did lift the evening somewhat. Also James Mac turned up but did not play. Towards the end of the evening when most of us had had a few things lossened up and became a bit more fun, and even Ken Cooper was persuaded to enjoy the proceedings for a few songs. Afterwards I discussed with Jamie how to improve the sound and satisfaction levels.
