Music Lab is a place for local underground artists, looking for somewhere to get together and create some monsters. Hmmm! Maybe not monsters but let's just say 'conduct secret musical experiments'.

Music Lab is the place where you can get you (or your band) onstage in a supportive friendly environment, where we have an open mic policy, and we love to see new talent, and experienced artists alike and together. We encourage original music and spontaneous jamming, as well as instant bands, comedy, spoken word etc. We provide a performance space and support services, including backing musicians, audiences and plenty of encouragement.

STOP PRESS Music Lab is taking a break. The Sly Fox in their infinite wisdom have decided to give us a bit of a holiday as they want to try out some other (more profitable) things on Tuesday nights. Meanwhile it gives me a chance to have a little bit of a think about what to do next. So that means I am open to ideas and looking for expressions of interest and thinking about whether or not to get a new venue or change the format and what other musical projects I could be working on. Any ideas? In any case I just wanna pay tribute to all the awesome performers that have come along to make the night so much fun for the last couple of years and just to give you all a great big thank you and tell you how much I sincerely love you all. Watch this space ...

Music Lab is moving to the Sly Fox Hotel in Enmore starting on Tuesday 13th December 2011. After two and a half happy and eventful years at the Town and Country, we are finally moving a little closer to the action and stepping a little further into the limelight. We will always be grateful to the hospitality at T and C and hope to organise the occasional event there again in the the near future.

Music Lab has now moved to Tuesday nights at the Town & Country. Same great venue, same great music - different night.

It might look the same but behind the scenes added many new functions to the site! New features include site searching, blog playlists and an all new artist registration system.

That's right! MJ Numan is finally releasing her first single - 'Centrelink'. This long awaited event is occuring at music lab from 7pm onwards (at The Town and country Hotel in St Peters) on the 28th Jan (tonight!). Marni has free copies of her new single to give away to the first 20 people to turn up and ask. So be there early to receive your personal blessing from this up and coming new rock goddess.

Next week Music Lab moves from Wednesday to Thursday nights at The Town and Country Hotel. As of the 1st October 2009, Music Lab is on every Thursday night.
