A lovely night. Rachel came along for the first time. Acts included Len Phillips, Zelda, Paolo and Christine. Also we had Jamie, Martin and Neil. Plus there was another guitarist and another vocalist who's names I did not catch. There was a really nice jam at the end of the night for about and hour or so with everyone getting in on the act at some point or other.

Truly awesome night. Definitely showing some potential tonight. Very pleased to welcome back Anglo Lane for the second time. Highlights included first time appearances by Fleur and the Courgettes, and the Expert Mentals. The team really pulled together tonight with Joe on drums, Brenden on MC and Martin bringing the drums.

Yet another great night. Not too many attendees meant that I got to play a lot and enjoyed lots of jamming with Brenden and Martin. Other highlights included the return of awesome guitar/banjo duo Mark and James who are having there first official gig next Friday at the T and C. Also notable was the reliable entertainment of John doing his unique selection of new, old and experimental material. Joey on the bar was a pleasure as always.

Enjoyable night featuring first time visit by two awesome artists Andy and Art Rush. Andy did a set of very cool originals, and then his mate Art got up to blow us all away with his Uke and his super entertaining attitude. Also it was a great pleasure to have in attendance Martin as well as James (from Mark and James).

Martin did many songs. Brenden came along for a quick rehearsal/set. Mark and James came for their typically fantastic acoustic set with new double bass player Jamie. Joey behind the bar. Adrian on his new acoustic bass. Terry dropped in on Drums. John did his usually fine set.

All in all a very lovely evening was had. I arrived to find that the store room had flooded and so the first task of the evening was to dry out all the drums and equipment and to arrange an alternative setup given the state of my saturated mixer. We had Rob on bar duties this evening as Vince is still out with an arm injury. The first lovely surprise of the evening was when local talent Zoe got up for the first time and blew us away with a sweet and beautiful couple of songs. Then we had the first time appearance of Anglo Lane which is Martin's band with his old friend Owen, which managed to get a few dancers going. And then we were very pleased to have the return of the awesome band The Relics who blasted us with some awesomely great tunes. And finally we were very pleased by our good friend Neil who turned up to join in the fun. After that we all had a nice bit of group jamming until closing time. Aww shucks!

Another unexpectedly amazing night. I started out solo and then Martin came and joined. Then Bogdan and Adrian also got up to join in the fun. Then we made way for the awesome Mark and James who brought a whole posse of friends along. Then we organised a jam with Martin and his friend Chris with Paul and I swapping guitar and drums. Then it was time for John to do his regular set. And finally we then had our old friend Ron who got up for a lovely set with keyboards and vocals. All in all a thouroughly fun and well attended evening was had.

A nice quiet evening ... mostly. We had Mik White, Martin, Ben, and Tim (with dog), and even Jamie turned up with a new guitar, but unfortunately Vince said he is still banned from attending. Anyway the highlight for me was the all too brief little jam at the end of the evening where I got to play on Tim's dobro for a bit.

A quiet night. We had Mark and James pop in for the first time for a very nice acoustic set.. They played guitar and banjo and both sang some lovely numbers with a celtic / bluegrassy feel. Also Martin and Neil and Evan came along to join in the jam.

Tonight we had the first attendance by the awesome band "The Relics".

Tonights highlight was undoubtedly the first time appearance of Jed and Molly and friend with their band "The Mollies".

Neil, Martin, Evan, Tom, Victor (Richard's Son) Joey was on the bar for the first time. A very laid back and pleasant evening with plenty of easy going jamming and friendly collaboration.

Tonight was one of those awesome nights that reminds me of what Music Lab is all about, where there was a constant stream of great music and great new talent for everyone to enjoy. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the evening was being amazed by the first time performances of Hunter and Reuben, who looked all of about 16 years old, but delivered, like a world class act, an awesome selection of timeless favourites ranging through Beatles, Dylan, The Cure and the Pixies? But another very bright highlight was the fantastic impros delivered by another first timer, flautist Louise who led the jamming on a number of songs later in the evening. Fluid, fast, emotion packed and mixed with vocal sounds to really impress and move the listener deeply. Bitter sweet however, was the last appearance of our great friend Zelda, who is leaving us to go to the states for about 3 months. We wish her the very best and will undoubtedly miss her very much, and look forward to her triumphant return sooooon! Tonight was another lovely night of pleasant musical fun with the highlights being the attendance of two excellent new Music Lab first timers in the form of Neil's friend, singer Richard, and Simone's friend the definitely talented Katy on keyboards and vocals. Sadly my battery went flat and I lost the recordings for tonight but the full list of contributors incudes the following fabulous people: Simone, Katy, Martin, Terry, Evan, Neil, Richard and John. Thank you all !!!

Wot a luvly night! Girl power provided the driving force to make this evening special. It's always a pleasure when the lovely ladies from the Meetup guitar group come along to share their beautiful talents. But there was plenty of boy power too with all the usual suspects providing plenty of backing, support, jammin and even a little bit of a jig (many thanks to Tom). Tonights honour roll generally includes: Tom, Eddie, James, Cathryn, Errin, Queenie, Neil, Martin and John. Many thanks to you all!

A most pleasant evening with most people turning up later on causing a little warping of the Music Lab space time continuum. But none the less, a long list of contributors made this another very special evening with a strong leaning towards the collaborative end of the spectrum. Lots of co-contributing was provided by Tom (Drums, Guitar, Piano), James (Drums), Enzo (Drums and vocals), Aaron (Spectating), Neil (Guitar and vocals), Zelda (Guitar and vocals), John (Guitar and vocals), Trip (Ben Tim and Marni) and last but not least Will (Guitar and vocals).

And this was one such day. The evening was made great by many of my favourite musos coming along to participate, including Tom, James, Eddie, Evan, Russel, Neil, John and the fabulous Zelda. But it was all topped off when I saw my dear old friends Ben, Tim and Marni come Tripping in through the door in the latter part of the evening, and so we got them up to showcase some of their latest and greatest work including a number of new numbers. All in all a very bright and sparkly evening was had by all.

Tonight was distinguished by the Music Lab debut of John the Sound Guy, and the return of Tom (brother of Will) on blues guitar (and with jammin' James on bass). John kicked of the evening with a couple of very lovely originals. Then Tom, who is down from Orange for a couple of weeks, did what he does best which is awesome covers jamming including open tuning slide and a little classical piano to boot! Other jammers and music lovers included Jammin' James, the irrepressible Neil, and the more out there than ever before Martin on beer and vocals. All in all a great night was had by all and sundry as we celebrated Cadel's magnificent triumph in the Tour de France. Yaaayyy!

Rain rain go away, come again another day. Well it had to happen sooner or later. I've avoided it for the last year, but finally we had a soaking wet Tuesday and it was impossible for me to avoid the rain on my bike and still turn up for Music Lab. Still it only serves to shore up my faith in musician kind to see certain brave souls ignoring the weather to come out and play anyway. First up tonight was the absoultely wonderful Simone doing a fine selection of solo songs. Then it was Neil's turn to bring on the big band sound with (almost) everyone else joining in. And finally we had an all too short performance by Dale (watched by the lovely Heather among others) in which he was really sounding very very good! Many thanks of course to Martin and Vince as usual for their also fine contributions, as well as to Carlene for coming back for more.

A most enjoyable and refreshingly uplifting evening. Will (brother of Tom) did his first ever set at Music Lab and it was really cool and very well received, with everything from classical gas to Led Zep and witty banter, he had the crowd in the palm of his hands. Evan joined in the fun on bass and drums and sang a beautiful version of Flame Trees at the end of the night. Drummer Dave (owner of the electronic kit) also came along and with his excellent rhythmic backing lifted the whole night. Also Neil was on fire and Martin was providing top support. Vince and audience member Carlene joined in on vocals to augment the fun factor. Even my Mum came along and had a little sing. Reached a number of sonic highs throughout the evening thanks to all contributors getting into a really good groove and all in the spirit of sharing the joys of playing music together.

New first timer Tim came with his dobro guitar and his dog. Played some really nice slide blues and vocals solo then latter joined in the jam on drums. Occasional jammer Shannon surprised and amazed with an energic, inspiring and long session on the drums. Other contenders tonight included Andre on bass, Martin, Neil, Evan. And even audience member Sam got up for a sing along with the band. Dubbed a very chromatic evening by Neil, I would have to agree.
