Joe backup. Pip and Matt on drums. Relatives came to visit. Ihac v2. 6 channel mixer 1st time.

Went to The Harp to see The Knife Waltz, Last Sunset On Earth, Tim's new band, and also Trip. Then Tim, Anne, Bell and I went on to the Town Hall Hotel at Newtown but Bell was asked for ID so we went to the Bank hotel instead where we stayed till about 4am when we all went home.

Had another great night tonight. Joe came to back me up and we took the "ihac" for the first time (the modified imac case with my sig gen and mixer inside it). Although we were critical after the performance, on listening back to the recording we were both very very happy with it. Turned out we were on stage for more than an hour. And in that time we managed to purely improvise for about half of it! I also liked that Joe was able to perform a solo number while I was getting set up. Spoke to Heidi about the photos and mp3s of here that I removed from the site yesterday at her request, and found she was pretty friendly about it all, just that she wanted to be able to control her image.

Had a really great night. I really enjoyed my set. Just took guitar and effects as had to carry all on the VFR750. Joe was not contactable for the last few days. Went on stage with Tim backing me up on drums, and that made it really easy to feel free to improvise on stage. We had a request to play the blues so we did, and that went down well too. Then performed "Lot Of people Talking" for the first time. Afterwards there was some great jammin as usual, as well as an altercation outside (first ever that I've seen at Sly Fox).

Fond farewell to Jimbo Jagger - One of the very best - Sadly missed always, and never forgotten.

It's going to be pretty hard getting to sleep tonight after this awesome lineup of artists. The ground is still shakin' from the waves of sound that crashed out into the open air at The Sly Fox tonight. And so we surfed like in some crazy beautiful dream, that went on and on ... until last drinks at 3am, that is!

Had yet another really great night at the good ol Sly Fox. Was really good fun jammin with Tim on drums and Bel and Marnie doing vocals. Plus there were plenty of good vibes all night.

Went with Joe in his car. Got there fairly early at about 8:30 and stayed until the end of the night. Neither of us were booked in but at the end I got handed the stage for a set and ended up doing some great blues jammin with Tim Wilson on Drums, and Chris Wilson and Dave Bull on guitars and me on bass. Managed to get a few people dancing. Joe ended up driving me back home afterwards and we ended up staying up until dawn talkin' and jamming.

Where do all these great acts come from? Tonight we were treated to some REALLY impressive performers, who I've not seen before (Not to mention one really impressive band I have seen before!)

Tonight we all remembered James Daniels (aka Jimbo Jagger) of The Falling Rocks. Jimbo who was on this very stage only 1 week ago, in living colour and larger than life, will be very sadly missed by everyone at YourSpace.

We miss you Sir Jimbo, and we thank you from the bottom of our heart for your time sir!

Of course we cannot forget that the world is full of other artists too. And some great ones appeared here at YourSpace this very evening! I was most impressed by Heidi Elva (the girl with the electric harp, the mobile phone, and the delay pedals) most impressed indeed! And then there was a series of great acts doing great songs, all the way up until the memorable rendition of Like A Rolling Stone which was performed in honour of Jimbo by Fred, Rex, Dave, Leyne et al. Also Fred kindly got up to the mic and gave us all a bit of info and insight about Jimbo, as his flatmate and friend.

I arrived to find this amazing poetry being read by a girl on stage. This was quality stuff! And it was absolutely enthralling!

Later on I performed Hal2000 experimental music which included some of the first ever sounds produced in public, from the latest prototype cosmic particle detector/transducer device.

Falling Rocks picked up a new bass player by the name of Steve about 30 minutes before the gig. And then with about 1 minute to go, we scored an instant drummer by the name of Ben Bondi. As usual it was not an un-eventful experience, and there were plenty of arcs and sparks as we almost slid off the stage into the abyss. But somehow we hung on to form a core team of dedicated musicians, that through circumstances beyond our control, found themselves in the midst of one of the great titanic struggles of the century, in an effort to make it through the hell and high water of our set, and into the open plains of job satisfaction that lay somewhere far off in the hazy distance beyond. Suffice to say, we survived the set, and it is sayed that some of us even thrived on it, and needless to say, once again, we live to make the sound of The Falling Rocks, for yet another day.

In other news, Leyne had to leave early, which is most unusual for our valiant promoter, coordinator, facilitator and all round groovy chick!

Kicking off the jammin part of the evening, the Falling Rocks were blessed with the backing of the next best thing to The Pope, and that's Pip, Matt and Ken backing us up on drums, drums and bass respectively. Thank you! Thank you! You 'guys' rock!

And then special mention also must go to Bell Woods for making the jam a special one through her excellent rockin' and melodic vocal impros with all and sundry.

Your Space closed a little early tonight after all the hijinks from the Nirvana night last week. Went in with Jimbo to perform at around 11:00pm. Arrived to find a sea of musicians mingling and doing their thing on the Your Space ocean floor. There were fresh faces on stage with plenty of talent and the atmosphere was very cool. When we finally got up on stage we performed Shattered, Sway and She's So Cold. Backing us up were Ben and Tim from Trip and Dave was on bass. It took a while to get the locomotive up and running, but eventually we got up to a good enough pace and made it into the Sly Fox station. On duty tonight were Leyne, Grant and Gad, and all were doing a great job. And a mention must go out to our gentle giant Adrian who is offically the best doorman in the whole of the southern hemisphere, if not the world. Thanks for looking after all of us so very well week after week Adrian. You are a champion!

In other news (read gossip) GRant got a new day job. Marnie and Tim got engaged. Marnie is out of Kamakura on technical grounds (read fired by d boss!). Tohe found a guitarist and is working on forming a band. (Note: She promised me she would do backing vocals for me some time) Joey turned up to soak up some vibe and maybe do a little backing up, and Martin turned up to maybe do a classical solo set, but unfortunately there was not time for either to play in the end. Meanwhile ? is no longer working behind the bar at The Sly Fox on Thursdays, but she came along anyway to join in the fun and great atmosphere at The Sly Fox - what greater testimony to a venue when the staff want to be there even when not being paid!

Tonight was the big Nirvana night. In the words of coordinator Leyne 'yeah last night was awesome fun. most people we've ever had play in one night ... its gone into folklaw now.'.

What wiv top music from 35 local greats, $8 jugs,trivia, raffle, prizes, banners, posters, mcs and Nirvana on top of all that, a lot of people reached their own Nirvana right here in Newtown tonight.

The lovely Mischa came out to play for first time in ages and at Sly Fox. She ended up jumping up on stage a few times. However perhaps the most notable event was the appearance of the amazing Shaun Mc Grath, who turned up resplendent in orange suit and chopsticks in hair, and performed a fabulous solo set, that was like nothing and noone else. I first saw Shaun back at good ol' Sydney Songwriter's about four years ago. It was really great to see how he has developed his own unique and very entertaining style, which consists of emotive songs in beautiful voice complimented by elaborate acoustic guitar work, custom tunings, and multiple capos, being changed in mid performance on the fly ! Whoooah! And all by just one person - amazing. And he really had a few of the (particularly female) patrons coo-ing to boot!

I performed solo as Hal2000 with an all new type of music using the signal generator for the first time. Did one song which was largely improvised. After that performed with Jimbo Miss You, Queenie, Satisfaction, Dead Flowers

Otherwise there was an amazing procession of talent on stage this evening. As usual, so it seems, the night was yet another great one, thanks to all those who came along and contributed !!
